Laura received her Master of Science in Counseling in 2009 and Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science in 2003 from Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor with 13 years of experience in public schools. Laura has worked in a variety of settings with children and teenagers for twenty-five years. She has additional training in Grief and Loss, Solution-Focused, Trauma, Attachment and Play Therapy. She uses a combination of counseling approaches including Person-Centered, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Solution-Focused and Narrative Therapy. Laura works to create a therapeutic alliance with her clients fostering hope, self-compassion and resilience.
She is a member of the Texas Counseling Association and believes continual professional development is vital to providing the best quality care to her clients. Laura is currently a doctoral candidate at Texas A & M University-Corpus Christi with a graduation date in 2023.
