ILEEN AVALOS, Graduate Student, Site Supervisor: Dr. Melanie Moseley, PhD, LPC-A
Ileen was born in Laredo, Texas, but has lived in Corpus Christi for nearly 12 years. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice from the Texas A&M University- Corpus Christi in 2017 and is currently pursuing her Master of Arts in Forensic Psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology- Online. She is expected to graduate in June of 2023.
After planning for and working towards a career in law, she shifted to psychology because she believed it would enable her to serve others in a way she couldn’t describe at the time, yet felt personally compelled and drawn towards. She primarily has experience working in a school setting and has the ability to support children, adolescents, and their families through a range of issues.
She believes each person is unique and carries their own life experiences that shape their perspective. Her goal as a therapist is to provide a safe, caring, and nonjudgmental space to build meaningful relationships with clients that allow growth and healing.
In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and family, traveling, attending music festivals, and trying new food.
